13 Card Game, also known as Thirteen or Tien Len, is a strategy card game. Four players each receive 13 cards and try to play all their cards first.
The player holding the 3 of spades starts the game. After that, play continues clockwise.
Players can play singles, pairs, sets, runs, or deuce killers.
On each turn, a player can either pass or play a card combination. The new play must match or beat the previous play.
The first player to lay down all of their cards wins the game.
13 is widely popular in China and in some parts of the US.
17 Game, or 17 Card Game, is similar to 13 but uses 3 players instead of 4.
Many players consider 17 Game more competitive because each player has a larger hand.
